Block paving is a versatile and cost effective driveway solution. As well as a range of colours, the following types of blocks can be laid:

During your site survey we can discuss the design, any drainage that will be required for natural water run off and features that you may require such as kerbs and edgings.

Everything You Need to Know

Typically, block paving driveways are installed as follows:

Levelled out subbase (after excavation)
150mm layer of type one hardcore
30mm layer of sharp sand (laying course)
Blocks with kiln-dried jointing sand swept over the top

We also use geo-textile membrane to keep the layers separated while allowing water to pass through.

Planning Permission Block Paving

You will not need planning permission if:

It is a replacement driveway
The surface is permeable (block paving is permeable) or naturally drains to the lawn or a border with natural drainage.
